• What kind of feature is a Digital Key?
The Digital Key provides the same functions as a car key using your smartphone.
The information is safely stored in the embedded Secure Element (eSE) of your smartphone, and makes driving your car much easier.
• Using a digital key
1) NFC type
Touch the NFC antenna area of the smartphone with the digital key registered to the vehicle’s door. The door will unlock or lock.
After you place the smartphone on the vehicle’s wireless charging pad and the digital key is authenticated, you can start the vehicle using the start button.
(*) To use this feature, the smartphone and vehicle must support the NFC feature.
2) Ultra-Wideband (UWB) type
The vehicle’s door will unlock when you get close to the vehicle with your smartphone, and will lock when you move away.
After the digital key is authenticated when you get inside the vehicle, you can start the vehicle using the start button.
(*) To use this feature, the smartphone and vehicle must support the Ultra-Wideband (UWB) feature.
The following access permissions are required to provide you with this feature.
Basic features can be used even if optional access permissions are not granted.

- Contacts: If you select a person saved in your Contacts to share a Key with
- Location: To check your location when using a Digital Key (Required permissions for using UWB : ultra-wideband method)
- Phsical activity : Used to detect when you’re moving toward your car so your digital keys can be activated (Required permissions for using UWB : ultra-wideband method)
- Nearby devices : Used to communicate with nearby devices when using digital keys (Required permissions for using UWB : ultra-wideband method)
- Notifications : Used to provide you with timely information
- Phone: To read the phone number saved in the SIM to ensure that it is the correct recipient of the shared Key
